Little Wonders - Lucy Ihua Yarnell
Gardens and parks have been places of true refuge this past year. Our son was born during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the outside world was, for the most part, off limits. No libraries, no museums, no playgroups, no zoos, no parent-and-me classes. But what we have had, what has never closed, are these wondrous green spaces right beyond the threshold of our front door.
In these urban naturescapes we have watched the seasons turn and our son grow. They have nurtured us, given us room to roam, and given our son’s curiosity space to bloom.
I captured this image on the very day my son’s curiosity took him to the edge of the map - the first time he managed to scoot himself off our picnic blanket to discover what little wonders lay beyond.
